It was business as usual for some drivers at the Redwood Acres Raceway last week, while another enjoyed a memorable night and a breakthrough victory.
With the 2023 season beginning to wind down, David Miller continued to impress in the late models division.
Miller took the lead on the eighth lap of the 50-lap feature race and never looked back, holding on for the victory over Brandon Barnwell.
Luke Hall placed third while Jerry Peterson was fourth and Romeo Venza rounded out the top five.
In the Legends division, meanwhile, Tyler Krupa enjoyed a breakthrough night.
Krupa took the lead midway through the main event after race leader Landen Green’s car faltered and he was forced to the pits.
Krupa held on late for the victory, which was his first ever in the Legends division, with Chris Lawrence, Scott Taylor, Chris Sarvinski and Mac Collado rounding out the top five.
In the bombers division, the main event was halted several times due to single car spins but fortunately nobody suffered serious damage.
Seasoned veteran Doug Way needed all of his experience to hold off young Kadence Toland for the checkered flag, with Brayden Carnes impressing on the way to a third-place finish, followed by Jeremiah Martin in fourth and Tanisha Ratzlaff in fifth.
In the mini stocks, meanwhile, Gary Klinetobe continued his outstanding season with another main event victory, as he stretched his already unsurmountable lead in the season standings.
Klinetobe, who has won every main event in the division this year, took the early lead in the 25-lap feature and cruised to the victory, followed by Peterson, Colton Kinsey and T.J Rollins, the latter of whom was making his debut.
This coming weekend’s scheduled race night has been canceled because CalFire has taken over Redwood Acres to use as a staging area for the Lost Fire.
