McKinleyville All-Stars clinch another District title

Photos by Ray Hamill/HumboldtSports.com – Action from Wednesday’s championship game at Hiller Park.

McKinleyville Little League claimed a second District title this week as an impressive summer for the association continues.

The Mack 14U Junior All-Stars defeated Arcata 12-1 at Hiller Park on Wednesday evening to clinch the district crown.

The victory follows the championship won by the Mack 8-10s in Arcata last week.

Also this week, the Eel River All-Stars won the 11-year-old District championship with a 12-6 win over Redwood Empire in Fortuna on Thursday.

The 12-year-old District tournament gets under way on Friday evening at the Redwood Fields in Cutten.

Klamath Trinity plays Eel River at 4 p.m., followed by Redwood Empire and Southern Humboldt at 6.

  1. Wow. Eel River 11-year-old All-Stars win the championship plus get to host sections later in July. They got exactly ONE sentence of recognition. But this massive write-up for “Junior All-Stars”…please why aren’t you telling us more about this mysterious “Junior All-Stars” that only appears to have 2 teams???

  2. These young men played ball for the Senior Division of Little League. As did around 15 other teams from all over the county. There is no mystery except for your uninformed comments that do nothing to support youth baseball. These 2 teams were the only ones in the county (including Eel River) that chose to field an All Star team after the season. Good luck at the Sections in Willows Mack!
