By Ray Hamill — With summer baseball just around the corner, the Humboldt Eagles will hold tryouts for their 2026 teams beginning on May 17.

The local American Legion club will field 19U and 17U teams with the season set to begin in early June.

The tryouts for both teams will take place at Belotti Field across from the Redwood Acres on two separate days.

The tryouts will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday May 17 and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday May 20.

Interested players must attend one of the two tryouts.

This year’s 19U team will be coached by longtime local baseball coach Scott St. John.

Players are asked to bring completed registration forms to the tryouts. The forms can be accessed through the club web site.

Sponsorships are available to help offset the cost of registration.
