The Redwood Empire All-Stars celebrated the Fourth with a perfect game.

Pitchers Jackson Sharp and Kade Pinochi combined on the mound to lead RELL to a 12-0 win over Eel River at the District 26 12-year-olds tournament in Cutten.

Sharp got the start and threw three perfect innings against the Eel River bats, striking out three, before Pinochi took over and closed out the game with two more perfect innings and two more strikeouts.

Both pitchers got plenty of help from their teammates, who made some big plays on defense to keep the Eel River All-Stars off the bases.

Lucas Ask provided one of the offensive highlights of the game with a three-run home run to end the game on the 10-run rule in the bottom of the fifth.

Riley Schneider also hit a two-run home run and a double, while Kyle GIacone was 2-for-3 with a triple.

Rounding out a big day for the RELL offense, Scotty Brogan finished 2-for-4 with a double and Sharp, PInochi and Bryson Burns each added a single.

With the win, the RELL All-Stars advance to the championship round and will play for the District championship on Wednesday night.

They are 3-0 in tournament play.

The loss was the first in tournament play for the Eel River players, who will try to bounce back when they play McKinleyville on Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m.

Earlier on Monday, the Mack All-Stars won a second straight elimination game, defeating Southern Humboldt 12-0 to remain in contention.

The tournament is now down to three teams.
