By Ray Hamill — The schedule for next week’s Charles Lakin Tournament has been finalized after the completion of league play on Thursday.
The H-DNL postseason tournament for baseball and softball gets under way on Tuesday and features the top three teams in both the Big 5 and Little 4.
The softball tournament will take place at the Arcata Sports Complex, while the baseball tournament will be played around the corner at the Arcata Ball Park.
Opening round for both tournaments will feature the Nos. 2 and 3 seeds from both conferences, with the four conference champions opening tournament play in the semifinals on Thursday.
Both championship games will take place on Friday.
Tuesday’s and Thursday’s softball games will be played at 5 and 7 p.m., while Tuesday’s and Thursday’s baseball games will be played at 4 and 7 p.m.
The softball championship game will be played at 3:30 p.m., while the baseball final will be played under the lights at the Arcata Ball Park at 7 p.m.
On Friday, it was announced that the Big 5’s No. 3 seed for softball, Del Norte, will not be able to participate.
The Eureka Loggers, who finished fourth in this year’s Big 5, will take Del Norte’s place.
The opening round for both tournaments sees the No. 2 seeds from the Little 4 play the No. 3 seeds from the Big 5 and vice versa.
No school passes will be permitted for tournament games, only HDN League and North Coast Section passes will be honored.
Admission prices for al games are $10 and $5.
The higher seeds will be the home team for all games.
