The Northern Humboldt Giants continued their winning start to the American Legion baseball season with another doubleheader sweep in Redding on Sunday.
In game one, the Giants beat the Redding Vipers 6-4 in what was their most competitive game of the weekend, before rolling over Fairfield 14-5 in five innings in game two.
Vincent Agliolo had a big day with five hits over the two games, including a triple and two doubles, as did Ethan Thomas, who also finished with five hits.
Finn McRea got the win on the mound in the opener, allowing five hits in four innings and striking out 10.
Jared Dixon got the start, throwing three innings and allowing six hits, while striking out three.
Jason DeShaun pitched all five innings of game two, allowing three hits and striking out six.
Austin Brown also had a big day at the plate, with a pair of hits in each game, while Dixon, DeShaun and Issac Arriola each had three hits on the day, including triples by DeShaun and Arriola.
McRea also had two hits, while Brody Mattz had a triple and Chet Keasey had a hit.
The Giants, who are now 5-0, will play the Southern Humboldt 76ers in Arcata on Wednesday evening at 5 p.m.
