The Eureka and Fortuna boys both enjoyed non-league wins over Little 4 opponents in basketball on Monday night.

The Loggers recorded a season-high in points with a 90-59 win over Hoopa at Eureka High, while the Huskies got the better of Ferndale by a score of 72-40 at Fortuna.
Junior Donald Bickle scored a game-high 18 points, including three 3-pointers, for the Huskies, who improved to 13-7 on the season.
The consistent Alfonso Medina and Russell Pascascio each also were instrumental in the win, finishing with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
Medina also had eight assists and six steals.
Jake Houseworth also had a good game and chipped in six points.
The victory was the second of the season over Little 4 opponents for the Fortuna boys, who will host St. Bernard’s on Wednesday night.
It was the third straight win for Fortuna.
The Wildcats, meanwhile, suffered a second straight loss for the first time this season and are now 11-6.
Kannon Christiansen scored a team-high 11 points for the Cats, while Thomas Fergison finished with nine points and Braeden Rice chipped in eight points.
The Ferndale boys will try to get back to winning ways when they host St. Bernard’s on Friday night in what will be a challenging Little 4 showdown.
The Loggers, meanwhile, improved to 7-10 on the season with their second win over the Warriors and fourth over L4 opponents.
Senior Hans Chalmers led a balanced Eureka offense that saw all 12 players score.

Chalmers scored a game-high 21 points, while teammate Jahmil Rippey continued to play a major role on the team and finished with 19 points.
Jordan Urban also had a good game and added 15 points, while Evan Hodges chipped in 10, giving the home team four players in double digits.
The game was tight early, but the Loggers quickly pulled away after that, stretching an 11-point halftime head to 30 heading into the final quarter.
Brandon Romero scored a team-best 13 points for the Warriors, who dropped to 4-11, while Brendan Baldy finished with 11 points and Lyle McKinnon, Brian Gulley and Rodney Clarke each chipped in nine points.
The Loggers will try to keep the momentum going when they play at McKinleyville on Wednesday, while the Warriors will try to bounce back when they play at South Fork on Friday.
