Local motor sports fans are gearing up for an exciting weekend of action at the Redwood Acres Raceway, with the third race night of the summer set for Saturday.
The night’s racing is presented by Zabel Trucking and will feature the first of two visits this season for both the NorCal Legend Series and the Upstate Modified Series.
The local bombers, mini stocks and the Dirt 4 Bangers will also be racing.
Saturday’s NorCal Legend race is the seventh of the season for the touring series.
Zach Sansom, Tanner Reif, Jeremy Doss and season points leader Trey Daniels have been the victors of the first six events.
Daniels is the only driver from that group that is competing for the season-long championship and he is coming off back-to-back victories at Ukiah Speedway in Ukiah on May 16 and at All-American Speedway in Roseville on June 13.
Local fan favorite Brandon White is also expected to make some noise in the race and will be a potential winner for Saturday’s feature.
Although White is winless in the series in 2026, he was victorious in both NorCal events last season and he won the most recent Legends feature at the Acres during Fair Night on June 20.
Sebastopol’s Cody Winchel is the defending series champion and has been successful at the Acres in the past.
Winchel will almost certainly be a factor on Saturday night along with other top stars Kai Lovell of Ukiah and Kylie Daniels of Fort Bragg.
It will be the second of four races for the Upstate Modified Series season on Saturday.
Cloverdale’s Ryan Southard was the winner at Ukiah Speedway on May 16., while Luke Hall placed second in that event and is the defending champion of the series.
Hall will be the odds-on favorite for Saturday’s 45-lap main event.
Practice is scheduled Friday from 5 p.m. to dark.
Grandstands open Saturday at 3:30 p.m. with qualifying starting at 4 and racing getting under way at 5.
Pre-sale tickets for Saturday are available at Don’s Rent-All in Eureka, JC Auto in Fortuna and McKinleyville Barbershop in McKinleyville.
