By Ray Hamill — The Corsairs are riding a three-game winning streak on the softball field, but will have to wait to extend that run.

A Saturday doubleheader against Butte College  in Redding has been canceled after one of the Roadrunners players tested positive for COVID.

The College of the Redwoods women swept a doubleheader against Shasta College in their home openers on Thursday, winning 11-0 and 6-2.

They are now 4-8 on the season after also knocking off conference leaders Butte (10-2) last week.

Next up, the Corsairs play a doubleheader against Feather River in Redding next Thursday.

They close out the season with three straight home doubleheaders, beginning with two games against College of the Siskiyous on May 22.
