By Ray Hamill — With fans set to return to the Arcata Ball Park for Humboldt Crabs games this summer, the team is still finalizing ticket details.
A limited number of tickets will be available for the June 4 season opener and games thereafter, with around 500 fans permitted in pods of one-to-four people.
That number could change, however, depending on what COVID tier the county is in by the time the season rolls around, as well as after June 15 when the state is scheduled to fully re-open.
An announcement regarding how fans can purchase tickets and how the pods will work will be made sometime in mid-May, two weeks before the season opener.
Tickets will be available through advance reservation only.
The Arcata-based club was forced to cancel last summer’s season because of the pandemic, the first time it has had to do so since it was founded in 1945.
The Crabs have also invested in new camera equipment to improve the quality of the online streaming of their games, all of which will be broadcast live.
The long-time local club announced on their website this week that “Thanks to our generous fans, the organization was able to purchase a high resolution WEB CAM for the summer in order to provide a better LIVE stream of our games on the Humboldt Crabs YouTube channel.
“Fans will see a close-up view of home plate, a picture in picture, and a wide shot of the field.”
