Freshman Lily Fournier and the Cal Poly Humboldt softball team will carry some momentum into this week’s CCAA Tournament.

The Jacks secured qualification for the postseason tourney after splitting four games at Stanislaus State over the weekend.

They opened the four-game stand with a doubleheader on Friday, taking game one 1-0 before losing game two 3-0.

The two teams continued the weekend series on Saturday, with the Jacks again taking game one, 9-1 in six innings, before dropping game two 5-4.

With the series split, the Jacks closed out the regular season 25-26 and were 16-14 in the CCAA, placing third in the conference standings.

That secured a No. 3 seed for this week’s CCAA tournament, which gets under way at Cal State East Bay on Thursday.

The Jacks will open against the host team and No. 2 seeds at 2:30 p.m.

This will be the program’s first CCAA Tournament appearance since 2017.

The five team double-elimination tournament gets under way on Wednesday and runs through Saturday

Fournier, meanwhile, has been named the CCAA Softball Player of the Week for the second straight week after another big weekend.

Fournier posted two more victories in two outings and did not yield an earned run as the Lumberjacks won both of her starts at Stanislaus State.

In 13 innings of work, the lefty from Las Vegas, Nev., gave up just one run on 16 hits with a solid strikeouts-to-walks ratio of 6:1.

She fanned 12 batters and walked just two with one hit-batter.
