The Humboldt Eagles 17Us made it two wins in two games at their own tournament on Friday, defeating Legacy Baseball 9-6 at the Redwood Fields in Cutten.

One day after opening tournament play with an 8-0 win over the Colts, the Eagles kept their tournament hopes well on track as they get set for the final day of pool play on Saturday.

And once again, it was some of the team’s younger players who stepped up.

Pitchers Brayden Bermers, Bryson Burns and Grayson Ramey combined on the hill, with Burns the most impressive.

Burns threw 2.1 innings and gave up just one hit and one walk while striking out one.

Five different Eagles players had a hit.

Kyle Giacone finished 1-for-2 with two walks an RBI and two runs, while Scotty Brogan was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Matt Pleasant also impressed and finished 1-for-1 with an RBI and two runs, while Brice Neuman was 1-for-2 with a run and Bermers finished 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run.

Burns also walked twice and scored a run, while Wyatt Zeller had an RBI and scored a run after being hit by a pitch to reach base, and Abel Estes walked and scored a run.

The Eagles will close out pool play against the Northern Humboldt Giants on Saturday morning at 9:30 at the Redwood Fields in Cutten.
