The Humboldt Crabs maintained their unbeaten start to the season with their 10th win in 10 games on Friday night.
The Crabs welcomed the Athletic Edge Express to the Arcata Ball Park and overcame an early two-run deficit to win 5-2.
Former Eureka Logger Myles Standish got the win on the mound, his second of the summer.
Standish threw six innings, giving up three hits and a walk and striking out nine.
Peter Caldera pitched the final three innings, allowing one hit and one walk and striking out four.
The Crabs out-hit the Edge 11-4 for the game.
They scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the third inning to take a 3-2 lead and added insurance runs in the sixth and eighth innings.
Adam Enyart, who has been one the team’s most impressive players through the early season, continued to shine, finishing 2-for-5 with two RBIs.
The right fielder is hitting .414 with a team-high four home runs and he also leads the pitching staff in wins with three, all coming in relief appearances.
Former St. Bernard’s Crusader Cayden Lee added a double in the win, while Michael Perazzo had a triple.
Wit the loss, the Edge dropped to 2-5 on the season.
The two clubs will continue their three-game weekend series on Saturday night at 6:30 p.m.
After this weekend’s series, the Crabs will hit the road next week as they kick off the Pacific Empire League with three-game series at Healdsburg and Lincoln.
