By Ray Hamill — The state champion Arcata Tigers football team was honored by the city on Wednesday afternoon with a victory parade.
Several fans and community members showed up on the plaza as the championship team drove by with a police escort.

A memorable and historic season concluded on Saturday, when the Tigers became the fourth H-DNL school to win a state title in the sport.
The Tigers rally late to force overtime against Portola in the Division 6-AA final in Fullerton, before clinching the championship in thrilling fashion in the extra period.
The Tigers won the game 27-21.
Junior quarterback Luke Lemke scored three touchdowns in the win, including the game-winning score.
On the previous play, the athletic Lemke evaded a sack and scrambled to give the Tigers a first down at the Portola one-yard line.
