By Ray Hamill — One of the most anticipated local basketball tournaments of the year will tip off on Thursday evening.
The Eureka boys will host the 46th annual Logger Classic at the new Jay Willard Gymnasium, opening against Laytonville at 6 p.m.
This year’s tournament includes four teams and will feature a round robin format.
Coquille and Shasta will also travel to Eureka for the tournament and will face off against each other on opening night at 7:30 p.m.
The action continues with a pair of games on Friday.
Shasta plays Laytonville at 6 p.m. and Eureka plays Coquille at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday’s’ schedule sees Laytonville play Coquille at 12:30 p.m., followed by Eureka and Shasta at 2 p.m.
The Loggers, who two of their three games at last week’s Arcata tournament, are now 5-1, while Laytonville comes in with a record of 3-6.
Coquille is 1-3 and Shasta is 6-6.
