Robert Williams pitched five strong innings in the win, allowing just one run, with Mateo Gutierrez throwing two scoreless innings in relief.

Michael Jewell led the way at the plate, finishing 3-for-3, and scored two runs, as the Eagles improved to 2-1 in tournament play.

Matt Letter also had a big day, finishing 2-for-3, while Tyler Schlesiger had a double.

Gutierrez also had a double and scored a run, while Archie Claybon finished with a double, an RBI and a run.

Tyler Maples capped a big day offensively for the Eagles with three RBIs.

The Eagles will try to avoid elimination once again on Saturday in a game at 4 p.m., as they continue to battle back through the losers’ bracket.
