Eagles 19Us fall to the Bammers in tournament opener

The Humboldt Eagles 19Us got off to a quick start against the Bammers at their end-of-season tournament in Sacramento, but were unable to maintain the momentum in a 6-3 loss.

The Eagles scored twice in the top of the first, but gave up runs in three consecutive innings to trail 6-2 heading into the fourth.

Keenan Morris and Hunter Davis each had two hits in the loss, including a double by Morris.

Connor Johnson and Caden Vance each also had a hit.

Vance also had an impact on the mound, pitching six solid innings.

The Eureka standout gave up four earned runs on seven hits and one walk, while striking out six.

The Eagles will try to bounce back on Saturday when they play two more tournament games, at 1 and 3:30 p.m.
