BASEBALL ROUNDUP — Eagles fall to Reno; Crabs win again

The Humboldt Eagles 19Us matched the Reno Knights for much of Thursday’s American Legion baseball game, before falling 7-3.

The Knights scored three times in the bottom of the sixth to snatch the momentum back from the Eagles, who had scored twice in the top half of the inning to pull within one.

Daniel Osborne finished with a pair of hits in the win, while Parker Rodgers and Jaden Gorge each had a double.

Curtis Edge pitched 4.1 solid innings in the loss, allowing five hits and four walks, while striking out two.

Matt Letter pitched 1.2 innings in relief.

Hayden Bode, Keenan Morris, Hunter Davis and Jeran ford each also had a hit in the loss.

The Eagles are now 1-5.

Morris shines again as Crabs keep rolling

The Humboldt Crabs won their eighth straight game on Thursday night, opening a four-game series against the Seattle Studs with a 10-5 victory at the Arcata Ball Park.

Eureka’s Aidan Morris continued to impress with two hits and an RBI in the win, as the Crabs scored five runs in the bottom of the second to take control.

Kaden Riccomini pitched five innings for the win, allowing two earned runs on four hits and three walks, while striking out eight.

Andrew Allanson also continued to impress with three hits in the win, including a home run and a double.

Ethan Smith and Tyler Ganus each also homered in the win.

Eureka’s Ethan Fischel also had a hit and scored two runs for the home team, which improved to 8-1 on the season.

The two teams continue their weekend series on Friday night at 7 p.m.
