Kelly, Daniels included on PEL All-League team; Crabs fans honored

By Ray Hamill — The secret is out, the Humboldt Crabs have the best fans in the Pacific Empire League.

With the summer season recently concluding, PEL officials have announced some end-of-season awards, and the Crabs and the H-DNL are well represented.

As are the fans at the Arcata Ball Park.

The Crabs’ supporters have been named the league’s Fan Base of the Year for the 2026 season, which will come as no surprise to anyone who has ever attended a Crabs game.

But that wasn’t all for the local summer collegiate team.

Former McKinleyville Panther Jackson Kelly has been included among the league’s Pitchers of the Year, along with another former H-DNL star.

Kelly, who threw a no-hitter against the West Coast Kings this summer, made 16 appearances for the Crabs and finished with a record of 4-0 and an ERA of 3.92.

He is joined on the all-league team by former Del Norte Warrior Preston Daniels, who pitched for the Medford Rogues for the second straight summer.

Daniels, who was named Big 5 MVP and Humboldt Sports High School Player of the Year in 2025, appeared in eight games for the Rogues and had an ERA of 2.33.

Several other players were also named to the all-league team for the Crabs, including pitchers Evan Miranda, Bryson Schelp and Adam Enyart.

The versatile Enyart, who played at Sac State this past spring, received a second all-league selection as a position player, joining teammates Manoa Chapman, Tyler Howard and Kawana Soares in earning the prestigious honor.

League player of the year honors went to Ty McGraw of the Lincoln Potters, while Healdsburg’s Peter Storjohann was named the league’s Pitcher of the Year and his teammate Rex Wilson was named the PEL’s Hitter of the Year.

Rounding out the awards, Medford’s Kevin Olmstead was named the league Coach of Year and Lincoln’s Matt Lundgren was named league GM of the Year.

The Crabs finished up with a record of 40-13.
