The Crabs continued to struggle on the road on Friday night, dropping a fourth straight game.

After being swept by the Healdsbrug Prune Packers in a three-game series earlier this week, the Crabs headed to Medford to play the Rogues and fell 17-5.

In their four road games this week, the local collegiate summer club has given up 43 runs and been outscored by 33 runs.

The red-hot Rogues, meanwhile, have now won five straight and solidified their hold on second place in the Pacific Empire Leaguer standings, behind the league-leading Prune Packers.

Medford improved to 9-4 in league and 21-7 overall, while the Crabs dropped to 11-7 and 27-8.

Giving up home runs continued to be a problem for the Crabs pitchers in Friday’s loss, as Medford hitting three of them, including two by Logan Macy. 

The Crabs have given up 11 home runs in their four road games this week.

Manoa Chapman and Ryan VandenBrink each had two hits to lead a seven-hit team performance for the visitors, including a double by the latter.

Kawana Soares also had a double in the loss.

Evan Miranda got the start on the mound for the Crabs and gave up four earned runs on eight hits and no walks, while striking out three.

The two clubs will close out a two-game weekend stand on Saturday night, with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m.
