Adam Enyart hit two home runs on Friday night, as the high-scoring Humboldt Crabs continued their fast start to the new season with a 21-2 win over the South Bay Storm at the Arcata Ball Park.
Enyart had a monster night at the plate, including a grand slam and a two-run blast, to help the Crabs overwhelm the visitors and out-hit them 20-5.
The Sacramento State player, who is in his second year with the Crabs, finished 3-for-6 with six RBIs, a walk and three runs.
The hard-hitting Damian Casas also continued his fast start to the new season, capping an outstanding opening week with the team.
He finished 3-for-6 with two RBIs and three runs and hit his second home run of the week, just two days after driving in the winning run in a walk-off victory over the Humboldt Eagles.
With the win, the Crabs improved to 5-0 and they have now outscored their opponents 66-14 in their opening five games.
Former St. Bernard’s Crusader Aidan Dorsch got the win on the mound, his second of the season.
Dorsch made his second straight Friday night start and pitched six shutout innings, allowing three hits and no walks and striking out six.
He got plenty of offensive support with nine different Crabs players hitting successfully, including five who had at least three hits.
In addition to the big nights for Enyart and Casas, lead-off batter Colton Boardman finished 4-for-6 with two RBIs and two runs, while Jason Arriola was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, two runs and three walks, and Chyran Humphries was 3-for-5 with a double, two RBIs, three runs and a walk.
Jaden Shabby also hit a double in the win.
The two clubs will continue their three-game weekend series at the Arcata Ball Park on Saturday night, with first pitch set for 6:30.
