The red-hot Adam Enyart had four base hits for the second night in a row on Wednesday, as the red-hot Humboldt Crabs continued to roll with a 15-5 road win at the Medford Rogues.
Enyart is enjoying an outstanding road trip so far and finished 4-for-6 with a pair of doubles and four runs.
Keenan Morris also impressed in the win and finished 3-for-4 with a walk and a pair of doubles.
The victory was the seventh straight for the Crabs, who are beginning to put some distance between themselves and the chasing pack in the race for a spot in this year’s Pacific Empire League championship series.
The second-placed Crabs are now 10-4 in league play (26-4 overall) and three wins clear of the Lincoln Potters (6-6) in third.
The Healdsburg Prune Packers, who travel to the Arcata Ball Park for a key series next week, lead the league standings with a record of 12-2.
The Crabs started Wednesday’s game fast and scored runs in each of the first five innings to open up a comfortable 9-2 advantage.
Jacob Pappas and Elijah McNeal each added two hits in the win, including two doubles by the latter, while Houston Hirschkorn and Timmy Reed each also had a double.
Sean Carey got the win on the mound, his first of the summer.
Carey threw four innings and allowed two earned runs on four hits and six walks while striking out three.
The two clubs will close out a three-game series on Thursday night at 6:35 p.m., before the Crabs return home to host the West Coast Kings in a four-game series this weekend.
Thursday night’s game, as always, will be broadcast live on local radio (ESPN 107.3 FM and 1340 AM) and streamed live on the Humboldt Crabs YouTube channel.
