Scoring runs has not been a problem for the Humboldt Crabs through the opening two weeks of the season.
And that continued to be the case on Sunday, as the local collegiate summer team racked up 25 hits in a 20-5 win over the Athletic Edge Express at the Arcata Ball Park.
The win secured another series sweep for the Crabs, who improved to 12-0 as they get set for a big road trip this week.
The Crabs also defeated the Express 11-9 in an exciting showdown on Saturday.
Adam Enyart continued to pound the ball over the weekend, hitting his fifth home run of the summer in just nine games.
Enyart, who plays for Saint Mary’s, was originally brought in as a pitcher, but he has been hitting the ball so well the coaches have adjusted their expectations.
“Adam Enyart has been a big part of what we’ve been doing,” Crabs manager Robin Guiver said. “But he’s been hitting the ball so well, it’s hard to keep him out of the lineup.”
The Crabs gave up four runs in the top of the first inning of Sunday’s game but answered immediately with five runs in the bottom half of the inning and led the rest of the way.
Jacob Pappas is another player who has impressed early in the new season after just joining the team last week.
Pappas finished 5-for-7 in Sunday’s win and was one of eight Crabs players to have multiple hits.
Kawana Soares also was 5-for-6 with five RBIs, while Michael Perazzo had three hits and Keenan Morris, Elijah McNeal, Cameron Sewell, Cayden Lee and Parker Rodgers each added two hits.

David Zazueta pitched five inning for the win on the mound, allowing just two hits and four walks and striking out five.
As the last of the players arrive in town, Guiver will finally have his full roster available for this week’s road trip, which includes three games against the Healdsburg PrunePackers and three at the Lincoln Potters.
“It’s been exciting,” the manager said of the start to the season. “We’ve been playing well. We’re finally getting everybody in town and getting our full roster.
“We’ve had a lot of good offense. We’re hitting the ball well. We’re walking too many guys, that’s the biggest thing we need to clean up, but our offense has been making up for that.”
Saturday’s game was a lot closer and the Crabs trailed for much of the game but scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to take their first lead of the day.
They added two insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth and held on for the win.
Impressively, all nine players in the lineup hit successfully, led by Tate Medicoff, who finished 3-for-5.
Enyart and Sewell both hit home runs in the win, with the latter finishing 2-for-3 with two RBIs and four runs scored.
Jonah Fragas pitched two hitless innings in relief for the win on the mound and struck out three.
The Crabs open the road trip at Healdsburg on Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
