
Cal Poly Humboldt Athletics
Cal Poly Humboldt athletics has announced the 2025 Lumberjacks Hall of Fame class.
The class, which will be inducted at a ceremony on Oct. 3, includes Monte Cook (staff, 1988-2006), Alyssabeth DeJerez (track and field, 2014-17), Fred Hooks (basketball, 2000-04), Jamie Larrabee (rowing, 2009-14), Lisa McDonnell (rowing, 2002-05), Blake Moorman (football, 2005-06), and Katie Obemma (softball, 2013-16).
Cook oversaw the department’s equipment room for 18 years.
According to a CPH press release, his “attention to detail left a lasting impact on the student-athletes he supported.
“His commitment to excellence and care for student success directly served roughly 2,000 student-athletes, many of whom credit Monte for his support and positive influence throughout their collegiate careers.”
DeJerez earned national, conference and academic honors throughout her collegiate career and was a two-time NCAA All-American in the 400 meter hurdles.
She also claimed All-West Region recognition and dominated the CCAA by winning both the 400m hurdles and 400m titles in 2016 and 2017.
Her exceptional 2017 season earned her the title of CCAA Track Athlete of the Year.
Hooks, meanwhile, was was one of the most influential players in Humboldt men’s basketball history and earned three NCAA All-American honors (2001-04).
He was also named the 2003-04 West Region Player of the Year and was a two-time GNAC Player of the Year (2001-02, 2002-03) and a four-time first-team All-GNAC selection.
He played a pivotal role in Humboldt’s memorable 2003-04 Final Four and West Region championship run.
He ranks second in career scoring at Humboldt with 2,077 points and is one of only two players in program history to eclipse 2,000 points.
Larrabee was a standout rower who played a key role on the varsity eight boat that led the team to a National Championship in 2014.
That same year, she earned NCAA All-American honors and was named first-team All-Conference.
McDonnell also was a standout for the Cal Poly Humboldt rowing program and a member of the Varsity 4+ squad that captured the individual national championship at the NCAA Championships in 2004.
Moorman was a quarterback for the Jacks football team from 2005 to 2006 and a consistent leader on the field, earning first-team All-GNAC honors in 2005.
Moorman ranks third all-time in program history in passing yards with 4,684 and holds the fourth and fifth spots for most passing yards in a single season, throwing for 2,388 yards in 2006 and 2,296 yards in 2005.
Obemma was a dominant force in the circle for the CPH softball program and was named second-team All-American in 2016 while earning multiple All-Region honors, including West Region Pitcher of the Year that same season.
The hall of fame ceremony will take place on Oct. 3, with a location to be determined at a later date.
