The Humboldt Crabs are now just three wins from a 40-win season after securing another midweek sweep on Wednesday night.
The Crabs exploded for 15 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on the way to a 17-1 victory over Seals Baseball at the Arcata Ball Park.
The victory lifts the local collegiate summer club to 37-7 on the season with three games remaining against the Sacramento Yankees this weekend.
Cameron Saso was one of five Crabs players to finish with two hits in a 13-hit team performance.
The Mack High graduate was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI and scored three runs.
Saso also was walked twice, as the Crabs took advantage of 10 base on balls.
Wyatt Reginatto also had a double for the home team, while Peyton Miller, Cubby Cortez, Luke Reece and Luke Brown each also had a pair of hits.
Benjy Tucker pitched four innings for the win, allowing five hits and two walks and striking out five.
Game one against the Yankees is set for Friday night at 7 p.m.
Sunday’s series finale, which starts at 12:30 p.m., will be the final game of the season.
