Crabs complete weekend sweep ahead of midweek road trip

The Humboldt Crabs completed a three-game weekend sweep at the Arcata Ball Park on Sunday as they get set for their first road trip of the summer.

The Crabs defeated TKB Baseball 10-4, breaking a 2-2 tie with two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and adding six more in the fifth to take control of the game.

The Crabs, who have now won five straight since dropping their opening two games of the summer, also defeated TKB Baseball 16-3 on Saturday and the Chico Nuts 8-2 on Friday.

They will now take to the road for two game against the Rogues in Medford on Tuesday and Wednesday, with both games set for 6 p.m. 

The games will be broadcast live on 107.3 FM and 1340 AM and streamed live on YouTube.

Colby Lunsford led the way at the plate in Sunday’s win, finishing 3-for-5 with four RBIs, while Billy Ham was 2-for-4 with a double.

Peyton Miller also had a pair of hits in the win.

Nolan Long pitched five innings for the win on the mound, allowing five hits and three walks and striking out seven.

The Crabs will be back at the Arcata Ball Park on Friday night, when they welcome the Athletic Express to town for a three-game series.
