Tyler Davis enjoyed a huge week at the plate, as the Humboldt Crabs split a two-game series with the Medford Rogues.

Davis hit a pair of home runs and a triple in a 10-1 win on Tuesday night, and added two more hits in a 3-2 loss on Wednesday.

Davis drove in four of his team’s runs in the win, as the Crabs took control of the game with five runs in the fifth to open up a nine-run lead.

Davis is enjoying a very impressive summer with the Crabs and leads the team in home runs (seven), doubles (10) and RBIs (38).

He also is batting .348, which is third best on the team.

Marcelo Saldana pitched seven strong innings for the win on the mound, allowing just three hits and one walk and striking out nine.

McKinleyville’s Cameron Saso was 1-for-4 with a double and drove in two runs.

The Crabs didn’t fare quite so well on Wednesday, with the visiting Rogues breaking a 2-2 tie with a run in the top of the seventh and holding on for the victory.

Aaron Perez had two hits for the home team, while Eureka’s Jackson Giacone was 1-for-4 and drove in one of the Crabs’ two runs.

The Crabs, who have won 15 of their last 17 games, are now 23-10.

Wednesday’s win for the Rogues was the first in four games against the Crabs this season.

The Crabs will look to get back to winning ways when they open a three-game weekend series against the Fairfield Indians on Friday night at 7 p.m.
