Eagles 19Us win twice on Sunday to complete undefeated tournament run

The Humboldt Eagles 19Us closed out their own tournament unbeaten with a pair of victories on Sunday, including a 7-2 win over the Pioneers in the championship game at Bomber Field in Eureka.

Earlier in the day, the Eagles won a hard-fought semifinal, 4-3, over the NorCal Nationals.

Aidan Dorsch dominated on the mound in the championship showdown, allowing two hits in six innings for the win and striking out six. 

Cooper Ohlsen also impressed, pitching a scoreless inning to close out the game.

Nick Parker led the way at the plate and finished 2-for-2 with three RBIs, while Daniel Osborne was 2 -for-3.

Vincent Agliolo also had a good game and was 1-for-2 with a triple and an RBI, while Mason Nichols was 1-for-2 with a double and Parker Rodgers 1-for-2 with three runs.

Branson Gans continued to impress on the mound against the Nationals and struck out 12 in a complete-game performance for the win.

Agliolo led the way offensively and finished 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while Rodgers finished 1-for-2 with a triple and an RBI. 

Nichols also had a double and an RBI, while Matt Letter 1-for-3 with an RBI.

The Eagles closed out tournament play 6-0.

Next up, the Eagles will a game at Santa Rosa on Tuesday, before beginning the five-day American Legion Area Tournament in Fairfield on Thursday, where they will attempt to qualify for the state tournament in Fresno.
