Humboldt Crabs return home, get back to winning ways

The Humboldt Crabs ended a six-game losing streak with a comfortable 13-0 win over the Silicon Valley Sharks at the Arcata Bay Park on Tuesday night.

Three Crabs pitchers combined for a two-hit shutout victory, with Marcelo Saldana pitching five innings for the win and striking out eight.

Former Eureka Logger Hayden Bode threw two hitless innings in relief and struck out two.

Mario DeMera led a 10-hit team team performance at the plate and finished 3-for-5 with two triples and two RBIs.

The Crabs took control of the game with five runs in the bottom of the second and led by eight after three.

With the win, the Crabs improved to 9-8.

The two clubs will close out a two-game series on Wednesday night, with first pitch set for 7 p.m.
