Several young players continued to shine for the Northern Humboldt Giants on Saturday, as they swept an American Legion doubleheader at the Southern Humboldt 76ers.
The Giants took game one 4-3 and won game two 12-4 to improve to 3-0 on the young season.

Incoming high school freshmen Tanner Kees and Hunter Carper each had three hits in the win, as did Del Norte’s Ethan Thomas.
Oliver capped a big all-around day with another hit, while Ty Ghisetti had a triple.

“This is a young team and they’re stepping up at the right time,” head coach Troy Ghisetti said.
The Giants will host the 76ers in a doubleheader on Tuesday, with game one set for 4 p.m., before traveling to play at the Medford tournament later in the week.
