The Humboldt Crabs hit seven doubles in a come-from-behind 8-7 win over the San Luis Obispo Blues at the Arcata Ball Park on Saturday night, before Sunday’s rubber game between the two teams was canceled because the field was unplayable.

Seven different Crabs players hit a double in the victory, including Eureka’s Jackson Giacone, who finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.

The Crabs led early but gave up four runs in the top of the sixth inning and would trail 7-4 midway through the eighth.

But after seeing a late rally come up just short in an 8-6 loss to the same team on Friday night, this time around the Crabs would not be denied and scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to re-take the lead.

Three former H-DNL players saw time on the mound.

Arcata’s Merek Sears got the start and pitched 5.1 innings, allowing six hits and no walks and striking out five.

St. Bernard’s Garrison Finck and McKinleyville’s Cameron Saso each saw time in relief, as did Andrew LaCour, who pitched one hitless inning for the win.

Nick Salas, Lane Oliphant, Tyler Davis and Drew Porter each also had two hits in the win.

The Crabs are now 4-1 and will welcome the Marysville Gold Sox for a two-game midweek series at the Arcata Ball Park, with game one set for Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
