The Mad River MIST 12Us won their third tournament of the fall over the weekend, placing first at the Redding Big League Dreams.
Because of the weather, the tournament was shortened to one day and the MIST girls went 5-0, including a 2-1 win over the Biggs Crushers in the championship game.
Pitcher McKennah Sargent finished 3-0 in the circle, including a big performance in the decider where she threw five strong innings, allowing just one hit and striking out nine.
Del Norte’s Natasha DeNicholas also was instrumental in the championship game win, hitting a clutch pinch-hit two-RBI double with her team trailing by a run.
McKenzie Coleman and Bailey Brown each also had a victory in the circle, while Olivia Hayes hit a two-run home run.
The MIST finished the fall travel season with a record of 22-7-2, and traveled for tournaments in Reno, Sacramento, Oroville, Medford and Redding, winning three of the five they competed in.
