Chad Wilson posted his fifth save in five opportunities at the Arcata Ball Park on Saturday night, as the Humboldt Crabs defeated Seals Baseball 6-5.
Wilson, who has been the Crabs’ most reliable go-to pitcher late in games, struck out six batters in two hitless innings as the home team held on for the win.
Andrew Allanson led the way the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with a double, while the red-hot Ethan Fischel continued his impressive summer with two more hits.
Fischel, a former Eureka Logger, hit his team-leading 12th double of the campaign.
Another former Eureka Logger, Aidan Morris, also had a double in the win.
Cade Van Allen got the win on the mound in relief, as the Crabs rallied from a 5-4 deficit going into the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Crabs followed that on Sunday with a 4-2 win over the same team, sweeping the series and stretching their winning streak to six straight.
Dylan McPhillips had three hits to lead the offense, while Owen Stevenson allowed just two hits in six innings for the win on the mound.
Fischel and Morris each had a hit.
Next up, the Crabs will host the Payson Cowboys on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, with first pitch set for 7 p.m. for both games.
