VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS — Tigers, Panthers renew their rivalry in basketball

By Ray Hamill — The league had to overcome a lot of uncertainty and a shaky start, but all in all it’s been a memorable season in H-DNL basketball for many reasons.

A short and sweet three-week campaign will officially close out this weekend, with both the Arcata boys and Fortuna girls closing in unbeaten seasons.

The Tigers are 7-0 after a big win over the McKinleyville Panthers on Wednesday night and will host Fortuna in their finale on Saturday, while the Fortuna girls are also 7-0 and close out with a potentially tricky matchup at home to Arcata on Friday.

The South Fork boys are unofficial Little 4 champs after sweeping their three league opponents, while Ferndale will close out with the best record in the girls Little 4 after going 2-0 before having their final game against Hoopa canceled.

The Warriors were forced to cancel their final two games because of COVID protocols.
