The Arcata standout scored a game-high 21 points as the Tigers comfortably got the better of their Big 5 rivals by a score of 76-49 in girls basketball.
Andre’s tally included five 3-pointers, as the Tigers pulled away after the interval, outscoring the Panthers 45-25 in the second half.
“It was a good way to go out for her,” Arcata head coach Doug Oliveira said of the senior, who is unavailable Friday night’s season finale at Fortuna.
The win was the fourth in five games this season for the Arcata girls, who quickly put a defeat to Eureka earlier in the week behind them
Olivia Railsback and Vivian Cronin each scored 11 points in the win, while Grace Talty chipped in 10 and Alia Prentiss had eight.
“We played well,” Oliveira said. “They pressed us early and it took a quarter or so to readjust.”
The Tigers were missing two of their three seniors.
“I was really pleased with our young players,” the head coach said. “They really stepped up.”
Kayley Armstrong scored a team-high 15 points for McKinleyville, which dropped to 2-6.
Teammate Cameron Heenan added 13 points and Kathryn Tinney nine.
Arcata closes out the season at Fortuna on Friday night, while the Panthers will host Eureka in their finale on Saturday.
