Eagles 17Us fall to the River Dawgs in Grants Pass

Early errors proved costly for the Humboldt Eagles 17Us in a 14-4 loss to the River Dogs in Grants Pass in American Legion baseball action on Friday night.

Caden Vance continued his impressive run and led the Eagles at the plate with three hits, while Gavin Brooks pitched four strong innings.

Ethan Pesch, Curtis Edge, Brayden Youkey and Aidan Dorsch each also had a hit.

The loss ends a four-game winning streak for the Eagles, who are now 10-5 on the season.

The Eagles will be challenged again on Saturday evening when they play the River City 19Us in Grants Pass.

  1. This is not American Legion baseball this season as the national Legion organization pulled its sponsorship of nearly all programs across the country. It earlier canceled all regional tournaments and the American Legion World Series in 2020. Another note – the Grants Pass River Dawgs are a collegiate wood bat team that will apply for an expansion franchise in the Golden State Collegiate Wood Bat League starting with the 2021 season.
