The Lumberjacks are hoping to end a long wait this week as they get set to close out the regular season in softball.

Fresh off an impressive four-game sweep of Chico State, the Cal Poly Humboldt women will travel to Stanislaus State for a four-game stand this weekend.

And if results go their way, they will advance to next week’s CCAA Tournament for the first time in nine years.

The weekend series gets under way with a doubleheader on Friday, with game one set for 1 p.m., and will also include a doubleheader on Saturday, with game one at 11 a.m.

The Lumberjacks, who are third in the CCAA standings, enter the final weekend of conference play with a 14-12 mark in the CCAA and they are 23-24 overall.

Stanislaus State is 8-18 in the CCAA (19-23 overall) and sits last in the standings.
