Registration now open for Rampone Soccer Clinic

By Ray Hamill — Humboldt State athletics announced on Tuesday that registration is now open for the Christie Pearce Rampone soccer clinic.

The long-time international soccer star and former U.S. women’s team captain will be in town as the keynote speaker for this year’s HSU celebrity dinner and sports auction on Saturday, April 4, and will hold a clinic on the university campus earlier in the day.

The one-day clinic costs $50 and is open to players from under-6 to under-17. It will take place at College Creek Soccer Field.

Pearce Rampone is a three-time Olympic gold medalist and two-time Women’s World Cup champion, serving as captain of the national team for eight years.

She played in five World Cups and four Olympics, including competing for the USA World Cup winning teams in 1999 and 2015.

The clinic is set to start at 11:15 a.m., with Check-in at 10:30 a.m. 

Immediately following the clinic at 1 p.m., there will be a question and answer session with Rampone, including a time for autograph and pictures.

Tickets are also on sale for the dinner and sports auction, which will be held at Blue Lake Casino.

Individual tickets are $100, and all funds raised at the event will benefit Humboldt State student-athlete scholarships.
