The Humboldt-Del Norte League wrestling dual meet season got under way this week, with the Loggers edging the Arcata Tigers by just one point in an exciting showdown at Eureka High on Wednesday evening.

The meet came down to the last match, with the home team pulling out a come-from-behind win, 42-41.

“We had an 11-point lead with two matches left and came up short,” Arcata head coach Eric Mikolai said. “I’m happy with the way my guys wrestled. We won a lot of the tough matchups, which will help us when we get to league.”
