A player local fans are very familiar with took the mound for the Medford Rogues at the Arcata Ball Park on Sunday, but the day belonged to the Humboldt Crabs who took the series rubber match to close out league play.

On another busy day for local baseball, the Crabs scored five late runs to come from behind and win 6-4, while two other North Coast teams saw their seasons end with tournament losses.

The Del Norte Seniors All-Stars lost for the second straight day at the Regional tournament in Oakland, falling 10-0 to the PCLL All-Stars, as did the Eel River 10-year-old All-Stars who fell 14-0 to Hollister in the NorCal State tournament. in Fremont.

It was, nonetheless, a memorable and successful season for both teams, each of which went deep into the summer.

The Del Norte All-Stars, who won the Oregon State championship, closed out tournament play 2-2, opening with back-to-back wins earlier in the week.

The Crabs, meanwhile, hosted the Medford Rogues in a three-game series this weekend.

They took game one 12-5 on Friday, before dropping game two on Saturday, 10-5.

Sunday’s series decider was close throughout with the Rogues leading 2-1 going into the bottom of the sixth.

Former Del Norte Warrior and 2025 Big 5 MVP Preston Daniels started on the mound for the visitors and threw five strong innings for a no-decision.

Daniels gave up three earned runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three.

Daniels has appeared in eight games for the Rogues in his second summer with the team, giving up 11 hits and nine walks and striking out 17 in 19.1 innings.

He has an ERA of 2.33.

Adam Enyart had a big day for the Crabs, finishing 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored, while Colton Boardman was 2-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and a run.

Enyart also got the start on the mound, throwing 5.2 innings and allowing two earned runs on five hits and five walks while striking out three.

With the win, the Crabs improved to 35-13 on the summer and closed out the Pacific Empire League fourth in the standings with a record of 13-12.

The Rogues finished one spot above the Crabs with a league record of 15-10 and are 27-13 overall.

The Healdsburg Prune Packers (20-6 in league) and the Lincoln Potters (16-9) placed first and second and will face off in this coming week’s league championship series.

The Crabs will open a two-game series against the Chico Lone Wolves on Tuesday night before closing out the 2026 season with a three-game series against the Placer County Peloteros next weekend.
