The Humboldt Eagles 19Us continued to roll on the opening day of their own tournament on Thursday.
The red-hot Eagles, who are playing their best ball of the summer over the last two weeks, swept a pair of games at Belotti Field, defeating the Chico Suns 7-3 and the Legacy 8-0.
They will continue tournament play on Friday night when they play the Colts at 7, also at Belotti Field.
The Eagles have now won nine of their last 11 games and improved to 13-7 on the season.
In other tournament action on Thursday, the Eagles 17Us won their second tournament game, getting the better of the Colts D team 5-4 with their second walk-off victory in two days.
The Eagles trailed by a run going into the sixth, but rallied to tie the game before securing another exciting finish in the bottom of the seventh.
It wasn’t just the second walk-off win for the team in tournament play, but also the second straight game in which they rallied late to tie the game.
“A dog fight all the way to the end,” said Eagles manager TJ Brogan, who added, “the guys never gave up again.”
Scotty Brogan got the start on the mound and threw five solid innings, giving up just two earned runs and striking out five.
Tyson Marshall closed out the game and also impressed, giving up just one earned run in two innings and striking out two.
Kyle Giacone continued his impressive start to tournament play at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 and scoring three runs, while Brice Neuman was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Bryson Burns added two walks and an RBI and scored on a first and third play.
The Eagles 19Us, meanwhile, gave up just three runs over their first two tournament games.

Ryder Mitchell got the win on the mound in game one, while Anthony Cardenas followed that with his best performance of the summer on the way to a shutout victory against the Legacy.
Mitchell threw 4.1 innings, giving up three earned runs on seven hits and five walks and striking out six.
Michael Manzi, who has established himself as the Eagles go-to closer, pitched the final inning to help see them over the finish line, giving up one hit and striking out two.
Mitchell also had a good day at the plate as he continues his impressive summer, finishing 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.
Rhythm Green (2-for-2 with an RBI) and Manzi (2-for-3 with two RBIs) each also impressed at the plate.
Cardenas, meanwhile, had a good outing in game two, throwing five shutout innings for the win and allowing just two hits and two walks and striking out eight.
“By far his best pitching performance for us,” Eagles manager Scott St. John said.
Mitchell and Manzi continued to have the hot bats for the team.
Manzi finished 2-for-2 with three RBIs, while Mitchell was 2-for-2 with two runs scored.
The hard-hitting Robert Williams also made some noise at the plate and hit an RBI triple.
