Motor sports return to the North Coast this weekend with a new division set to debut at the Redwood Acres Raceway.
The 2025 season is at the halfway point and a packed night of action on Saturday will include the Mid-City Motor World Late Models, the Upstate Bomber Series, Legends, Jr. Legends, mini stocks and vintage midgets.
The night, presented by Harper Motors, will also feature the 2025 debut of the Eel River Transportation & Salvage Dirt 4 Bangers.
Raceway officials announced the addition of the new division earlier this month.
The new class is a cost-effective division with all vehicles being stock two-wheel drive, four-cylinder vehicles.
The only alterations that can be made to the cars are safety enhancements including roll cages and window nets.
The Dirt 4 Bangers will race on the infield dirt track and raceway officials expect 10 cars for the division this Saturday.
Four race nights remain on the schedule for the 2025 season.
Brandon Barnwell is the leader in the championship standings for the Mid-City Motor World Late Models and holds a 39-point lead over Jerry Peterson.
Trey Daniels leads Kylie Daniels by 41 points atop the Legends standings, while Jimmy Sorrels has a 12-point gap over his son T.J. Sorrels in the Upstate Bomber Series standings.
Harper Motors will be hosting their eighth Annual Mustang Show And Shine in front of the main grandstands prior to Saturday’s races.
Grandstands open at 3:30 p.m. with racing starting at 5.
Pre-sale tickets are available at Don’s Rent-All in Eureka, JC Auto in Fortuna and McKinleyville Barbershop in McKinleyville, as well as on RacinTheAcres.com.
