Redwood Acres Raceway officials have announced the addition of a new division that is expected to begin competing at the local track immediately.

The Dirt 4 Bangers will join the Late Models, Bombers, Legends, Jr. Legends and Mini Stocks and could see action as soon as the next race night, which is set for July 26.

The Dirt 4 Bangers will compete on the dirt oval in the track infield.

Eel River Transportation & Salvage will be the title sponsor for the division.

The Dirt 4 Bangers are similar to the jalopy division that raced at Ukiah Speedway in the past.

The division is cost effective with all the cars being stock two-wheel drive, four cylinder or smaller engine vehicles. 

The only enhancements that can be made to the cars are the addition of roll cages and other safety enhancements.

Rules for the Eel River Transportation & Salvage Dirt 4 Bangers are available on Redwood Acres Raceway’s website as well on the track’s Facebook page.

The next race night will be presented by Harper Motors and will now include the Mid-City Motor World Late Models, the raceway also announced this week. 

The Upstate Bombers, Legends, Jr. Legends, Mini Stocks will also be in action that night.

Prior to the races, Harper Motors will present the eighth annual Mustang Show And Shine in front of the main grandstands.
