Several local players enjoyed a big night at the Arcata Ball Park on Tuesday night as the Humboldt Crabs continued to roll.

The Crabs welcomed Seals Baseball to the North Coast for the first of two non-league midweek games and won 9-1.

The win was the Crabs’ fourth straight and their 17th in their last 19 games, as they improved to 31-5 on the summer.

Two former Arcata High pitchers combined to give up just one run over the nine innings, while four other local players all hit successfully.

Arcata’s Miles Oliver, who also played for College of the Redwoods, got the start and the win on the hill, which was his fourth of the season.

Oliver (4-0) pitched seven innings and gave up just four hits and two walks, while striking out four.

His former Tigers teammate Cedar Cline pitched the final two innings, allowing four hits and no walks and striking out three.

Former Eureka Logger Parker Rodgers and former St. Bernard’s Crusader Cayden Lee led the Crabs at the plate with two hits each.

Rodgers finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run, while Lee was 2-for-5 with a run scored.

Rounding out a big night for the local contingent of Crabs players, Nolan Hamilton was 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run, and Keenan Morris  was 1-for-4 with two runs scored.

Kawana Soares also had two hits for the Crabs, who scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and led wire to wire, while  Tate Medicoff hit a home run for the second straight game.

The two clubs will close out a two-game series on Wednesday night, with first pitch set for 7 p.m.
