The Humboldt Crabs returned to the North Coast this week and continued to roll with three more victories, including a key league win on Friday night.

After a challenging road trip last week, the Crabs were back at the Arcata Ball Park on Tuesday and Wednesday night and posted a pair of victories over the Chico Wolves, winning 10-1 and 6-4.

They followed that with a Pacific Empire League win over the Lincoln Potters in a high-scoring game on Friday night, winning 14-10.

With the three wins, the Crabs improved to 19-3, including a 4-3 record in the PEL.

And local pitchers played key roles in all three wins.

On Tuesday night, former Arcata Tiger and College of the Redwoods standout Miles Oliver got the win, throwing five innings of one-hit ball.

It was the third win in four starts this summer for Oliver, who walked four and struck out four and is now 3-0.

He got plenty offensive support, with the Crabs bats racking up 11 hits in the win, including a 3-for-4 night for Nolan Hamilton.

Keenan Morris, Tyler Howard and Tate Medicoff each added two hits, including a home run by Howard and doubles by Morris and Medicoff.

Oliver’s CR teammate Brock Lenhardt got the win on the mound on Wednesday night, his first of the summer.

Lenhardt threw four innings and allowed just two hits and two walks and struck out one.

Sutter Moss finished 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs and hit his third home run of the summer, while Cameron Sewell and Michael Perazzo each also had two hits, including a triple by Sewell and a double by Perazzo.

Former St. Bernard’s Crusader Cayden Lee also had a hit in the win, while former Fortuna Husky Cody Collins pitched two innings to close out the game and got his first save of the summer.

Collins, who has appeared in four games since joining the team in mid-June, gave up two hits and one walk and struck out four.

The local contingent of pitchers continued to impress in Friday night’s series opener against the Potters, with former Eureka Logger Myles Standish getting the win on the mound.

Standish, who has become the Crabs’ regular Friday night starter this summer, threw seven strong innings, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks and striking out eight.

Adam Enyart led a 13-hit team performance, finishing 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, while the red-hot Keenan Morris continued to excel in the lead-off spot.

The former Eureka Logger, who was 2-for-6 with two RBIs, has hit successfully in 10 straight games and 16 of his last 17.

Sewell hit his third home run of the summer in the win, while Jacob Pappas and Kawana Soares each added two hits.

The win over the Potters was the Crabs’ third in four matchups between the two rival clubs in just eight days.

With the loss, the Potters dropped to 4-3 in the PEL and 19-4 on the season, with three of those losses coming against the Crabs.

The two teams will continue their weekend series on Saturday night at 6:30 p.m.
