By Ray Hamill — The move to Missouri has been a good one for Tatianna Colegrove.
After two outstanding years playing at Mendocino County, the former Hoopa Warriors softball standout is now playing for Cottey College, an NAIA school in Nevada, Missouri.
And so far so good for the 2023 Little 4 MVP.
Colegrove leads her new team with a record 5-1 in six starts and has an ERA of 3.91.
She also has thrown four complete games and has struck out 29 batters in 34 innings.
And she appears to be getting better as she adjusts to the NAIA level.
On Saturday, Colegrove pitched five innings in a 14-4 win over Sterling College and struck out a season-high 11 batters, while allowing six hits and two walks.
Her new team is also enjoying some success this year.
The Comets are 10-3 through the early going and giving their pitchers plenty of run support, averaging over 6.5 runs a game.
They also have won eight of their last 10 games, with Colegrove posting four of those eight wins.
In her two seasons at Mendocino, the Biology major made her presence felt, earning Golden Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year honors as a freshman in 2024 and adding an all-conference first-team selection in 2025.
