The dynasty is alive and well.
On Tuesday night, the Del Norte 12-year-old Little League All-Stars won an Oregon District 8 championship for the third straight year, defeating Central Point 11-1 in the championship game.
Coached by Tyler Bachmann, this group of players have established themselves as one of the best and most consistent Little League teams in the state of Oregon over the past few years.
Two years ago, as 10-year-olds, they won a district title and placed third in the state tournament, and last year as 11s many of the same players repeated as district champs and would go on to place fourth in the state.
This year, they’re headed to the state tournament once again and hopes are high that they can fare even better than before.
“This group, they’ve been working really, really hard and they all had great seasons during league,” Bachmann said. “And they’re just super excited to see how far we can go in state.”
The state tournament will be played in Portland and gets under way on July 19, and the Del Norte All-Stars will carry plenty of momentum into the big tournament, after winning all three of their games at the District tournament.
And they succeeded with a balanced team performance, including some great hitting and pitching and some solid defense.
They opened tournament play with a 15-2 win over Brookings-Harbor on Saturday night and followed that with a 14-7 win over Central Point on Sunday night to reach the championship round.
Central Point would battle back through the loser’s bracket and earn a rematch, but Del Norte was too strong once again and won the decider in four innings on the 10-run rule.
Tyler Ellison and Teagan Good led the way on the mound for Del Norte and were supported by some stellar team defense, with catcher Manual Contreras helping to set the tone on that side of the ball, along with middle infielders Chase Bachmann and Lio Ramirez, center fielder Louis Moorehead, right fielder Carson Hood and Good at first base when he wasn’t pitching.

Offensively, the team racked up 37 hits in the three games, ending two of them early on the 10-run rule.
Chase Bachmann, Ramirez, Good and Contreras combined to go 24-for-30 at the plate in tournament play, with the young Bachmann batting a perfect .1000 with five doubles.
In game one, Ellison, Moorehead, Jase Price-Lewis and Good combined on the mound.
The consistent Ellison got the start in game two, with Good taking over in relief and pitching “lights out,” according to the coach, while finishing with eight strikeouts.
Having kept his pitch count down in the opening two games, Ellison was able to throw again in the championship game and pitched the complete game in 54 pitches.
“He was dialed in and hitting all the spots that were called,” Tyler Bachmann said.
Jay Land, Ryker Duncan, Mason Lindsay and Charles Mavis rounded out the roster and each of them also had some big contributions on the way to the championship.
“They hit the ball extremely hard,” the head coach said of his players. “And we had some good pitching and some good defense.
“Defensively, pretty much all of our outfield played great, and our middle infield played great.”
Steve Bachmann and Casey Duncan are the assistant coaches with the team.
