The Huskies came out of the starting gates on fire on the way to a non-conference boys basketball win over neighbors and rivals Ferndale at Fortuna High on Monday night.
Fortuna won the game 57-34.
The Huskies outscored the visitors 24-5 in the first quarter and carried a 22-point lead into halftime.
With the win, they improved to 8-10 on the season.
The impressive Jack Stacy continue this big season for the hosts and finished with a team-high 13 points as well as five rebounds.
Jake Houseworth also impressed for Fortuna and added 10 rebounds and eight points, while teammate Blayne Barrote had nine points, all from downtown.
Cage Collins also scored eight points in the win, while Owen Wallen had seven points and four assists and Jace Barsanti had six points and four assists.
Hunter Reback also had six rebounds for Fortuna and Gavin Mayberry had five rebounds.
No stats were immediately available for Ferndale, which dropped to 4-9 on the season.
The Wildcats did grow into the game and enjoyed the better of exchanges in the third quarter.
Both schools will return to conference play later in the week.
On Wednesday night, Fortuna travels to McKinleyville, while on Friday Ferndale hosts Hoopa Valley.
