Change of venue announced for weekend NCS playoff game

Photos by Ray Hamill/HumboldtSports.com – The Arcata Tigers will host Petaluma in the NCS playoffs on Friday night.

By Ray Hamill — One of the three North Coast Section football games featuring an H-DNL team this weekend has switched venues.

The Arcata Tigers, who are seeded No. 1 in the bracket, will host No. 5 Petaluma in a Division-6 semifinal on Friday night.

The game was originally scheduled to take place at McKinleyville High School, but has been switched to Cal Poly Humboldt’s Redwood Bowl.

Game time is set for 7 p.m.

Two other H-DNL teams will also be in action in the NCS playoffs this weekend.

The Del Norte Warriors are seeded No. 4 in Division 7 and will play at No. 1 Moreau Catholic, also on Friday night at 7.

Also in Division 7, the No. 2 Ferndale Wildcats will host No. 3 Piedmont on Saturday afternoon at Coach Carlson Wildcat Field.

That game kicks off at 1 p.m.
