H-DNL champions Madyson Nelson and the Arcata Tigers traveled to compete in the North Coast Section Division-II girls golf championships on Monday, along with some of the league’s other top golfers.
Playing at the Rooster Run Golf Club in Petaluma on Monday, Nelson led the H-DNL girls with a round of 99.
Alyssa Lim of James Logan High placed first at the prestigious event with a round of 67, and the top 18 individuals, who each carded an 86 or better, all advance to next week’s Division-1 tournament.
Seven other H-DNL girls also competed on Monday.
Fortuna’s Mariah Bravo had the second best round of the day for the league and shot a 105, followed by Nelson’s teammate Lucia Hernandez, who shot a 111.
Del Norte’s Bria Larson also had a good day and carded a 113, while St. Bernard’s Ingrid Monaghan had a round of 116.
Rounding out the Arcata scores, Julie Omaha shot a 128, Toni Diaz shot a 129 and Ashlynn Bowen shot a 132.
